The main characters of the book the boys Harry, Soroka and Helen - sister of Harry. They are all orphans, because the book describes the postwar years. Peaceful Soviet Union, where there is no war, but in the soul and body of people have terrible memories of the horrors of the forties. Military theme broken in the book, modernity is intertwined with the events of the past: the impregnable island in the middle of a large lake attracts boys. The island is heroic and has mysterious history. Guys interested exploits of their fathers and grandfathers and sacred honor their memory.

I love detective stories. Especially when it comes to Agatha Christie. Miss Marple was my favorite character. The old woman does not get tired guess difficult task that confronts her fate.
In the book "А Pocket Full of Rye" voltage is kept to the last page. Please read this quote:

“Nobody believes in magicians any more, nobody believes that anyone can come along and wave a wand and turn you into a frog. But if you read in the paper that by injecting certain glands scientists can alter your vital tissues and you'll develop froglike characteristics, well, everybody would believe that.”
What do you think of her? I think, this quote is very strong. It makes us think. Did not we read this book?
Such quotes there will be many more. Read the book if you have not already and leave a review about it in the comments. You can send feedback on any book in the Facebook-page. Reviewed appear in the blog.
